Training
HANDS-ON TRAINING
Tower Solutions provides two types of initial training; Field Training and Engineer Training.
Both training sessions are typically conducted simultaneously over five working days. The engineering training consists of 1 day of observation of the tower erection process (during the field training) and three – four days of classroom training. Every line worker completes the training having had the opportunity to be directly involved in every aspect of removing a tower from storage, erecting it using only basic tools and equipment, dismantling the tower and returning it to storage. A training manual gives a permanent guide that is always available for reference.
Field Training Plan
The field training involves the erection and dismantling of a 5-section tower (with one phase) and a 9-section tower.
Engineering/Software Training Plan:
The engineering portion of the training is conducted using PLS-CADD Lite and PLS-Pole (LW+ Mast) software. In this proposal, no licenses of PLS are provided as part of the package, however up to 15 temporary training licenses of PLS-CADD Lite and PLS-Pole can be provided for the duration of the training course.
About PLS CADD
Tower Solutions provides PLS CADD/LITE and PLS POLE LW+MAST software and engineering training for analysis and design of tower structures. This software enables the user to design tower configurations for any loading condition. PLS software is the state-of-the-art standard in the industry for analyzing tower designs.
During training, new structures are designed from the ground up and various weather conditions and structural loads are simulated to study the structural response of the ERS tower. Training provides a hands-on opportunity for engineers to specify loadings, winds, weight spans, configurations, etc., including calculation of quick sag-tension, clearance, and conductor loads, to determine the suitability of a particular tower design. The training provides the utility with the capability to use become independently proficient with designing tower configurations to address any conceivable requirement.
